As today is the last day of recipe provision, it’s all a bit of smoothie fun. Health Embrace have rustled up what could be a perfectly balanced yet simple after school ‘milkshake’ to make with children or a healthy alternative for adults desperate for something sweet during a mid afternoon energy slump!
Blend the below together for 30 seconds and store in flask for later or sip there and then! It’ll provide a tasty liquid snack for either 2 adults or 1 adult and 2 small children.
1 heaped tbsp peanut butter
1 teaspoon coconut butter (or splash of olive oil alone/with 1 tsp of desiccated coconut)
1 heaped tbsp cocoa powder
1.5 cups of milk of choice (e.g. cows, coconut or almond)
2 heaped tbsps of plain full fat natural yoghurt
1/2 tsp maple syrup (or honey)
The smoothie ingredients are hopefully those easy to hand. As always please substitute to consider affordability, what’s available, individual likes and any food intolerance.
If you have invested in some new ingredients for other challenge recipes these could work well e.g. cacao powder instead of cocoa or cashew nut butter instead of peanut butter.
Happy for questions if you need extra substitute ideas or any guidance on this smoothie and previous themed recipes…
Thanks for checking in.
