Sometimes when you’re on a health tip you’ve just got to try things out & have a bit of fun (even if it might be with your taste buds!!). I may love talking nutrition but I’m not a chef & am a terror for avoiding recipes! So here’s a concoction for you to try, test and perhaps improve…? My pal Lisa just got to be chief taster & she reckons they’re a good option if you’re craving something sweet & you’re avoiding processed/trying to be good generally… Apparently some chopped nuts would be a nice addition too.
– Heat 175g of medjool dates and a few tablespoons of water to make a smooth paste
– Add 1 heaped tbsp each of almond powder, coconut oil, cocoa & peanut butter & mix in while on low heat
– Add a mashed ripe banana & either stir like mad or add to a processor for a moment
– Add 3/4 cup of oats to the mix
– Transfer to baking tray & bake at 180 for about 15 mins
– Once cooled keep them cut up in an airtight container in the fridge
